Mark Merritt from M & K Landscapes started landscaping in 1983 in Melbourne. He trained with Andy Avard from Native Bush Landscapes.

For 23 years he has been designing and creating outdoor living areas throughout Melbourne and the Yarra Valley. His philosophy is that every garden is different and calls for an individual approach that expresses the personality and needs of its owners and takes into account their way of life.

M & K Landscapes' services include design and construction, project management and a broad range of creative services. The size of his projects has varied from small inner city courtyards to large acreage resort style projects.

His work has ranged from:

• small intimate spas to large resort style pools,
• topping paths to kerb and channel driveways,
• simple pergolas to tennis court and pool pavilions,
• timber crib walls to dry stone masonry,
• concrete paths to natural stone walkways and drives,
• natural native ponds to formal waterfalls and water features,
• spot lighting of garden sculptures to harmonious lighting of the entire landscape
• above ground water storage to below ground water retention systems, and
• drought resistant gardens to formal traditional English gardens, Japanese gardens to Mediterranean gardens.

At the client's request Mark will also integrate water storage facilities within the project.

One of Mark's particular interests is integrating the concept of resort style living in our outdoor areas specializing in the use of water features and pools.

Mark, in conjunction with North Croydon Swimming Pools, designed, landscaped and constructed the SPASA 2007 Best Victorian Residential pool and received a silver medal in the category of Best Natural Pool in Australia.

Mark and his team specializes in all of the stages required for any landscaping needs, from initial consultation and design, project management and construction, through to completion and maintenance.

As referees will attest Mark has an exceptional ability to visualize and carry through to completion both very large and small projects. He has access to a range of quality subcontractors including engineers, horticulturists, pool builders, outdoor lighting experts, gardeners, irrigators, builders, stonemasons and specialized suppliers.
